This 60 hour course is designed to introduce you to 4 pillars of competency-based personalized learning with practice activities for you to complete to show mastery of the content. You will create and maintain a portfolio of your work using Google Sites, and your final project will require you to present your portfolio. This can be done live via a Google Meet or asynchronously using Screencastify. You will also experience G Suite for Education and other ed tech tools you can begin to use immediately in your classroom.

This course will give you the opportunity to:

  • increase your familiarity with 4 common pillars of personalized learning: student agency/empowerment, learner profiles, learner pathways, and flexible environments.
  • apply knowledge through activities and document them with reflection in your student portfolio
  • experience new tech tools to assist you in your classroom immediately
  • raise your confidence level as you start to digest the many moving parts of personalized learning

Eileen has served others as a technology mentor, technology specialist, and instructional coach for 20 years, and she is passionate about helping revolutionize education through personalization, engagement, and empowerment. Eileen is also is a Google for Edu Certified Trainer with a Master’s in Educational Technology. She has presented for local and state conferences including SC ED Tech and EdTechTeam Summits. When does the course start and finish?
This course is self-paced and starts approximately 1 week after you register. It is recommended that you complete it in 12 weeks; however, if you need more time, you can take it.
How long do I have access to the course?
You will have access to the materials in this course indefinitely.
If I want graduate credits, how does that work?
Our graduate credits will be granted through Adams State University. Your graduate credits will be granted at the end of the semester you complete the course.
Do I have to take it for graduate credit?
No, this course is available as both 60 hours of professional development as well as a 3-graduate-credit course. The non-credit course costs $299. The graduate credit course costs an additional $150 for a total of $449.
How much is the course if I don't want or need graduate credit?
For a non-credit course, you will receive a certificate for 60 hours of professional development, and the cost is $299. It is your responsibility to show the course description to your school or district to get it approved before registering for the course. Are group discounts available for schools and districts?
Yes, group discounts are available. If a school or district registers 5 people, they will get one free. This does not include the graduate credit. That must be paid in full $150 per person. In other words, 6 people will cost $1495 for professional development hours. Each person who wants graduate credit would have to pay $150 each. Has this course already been approved by a state agency?
All graduate credit courses are state approved. Continuing Education credits must be approved by your local district or certifying body. Please print out or share the description page and get approval before you sign up for the course. This is your responsibility.
Can a school or district subsidize the course to lower the price for its teachers?
Absolutely! If a school or district wants to encourage its teachers to take this course, it can apply a certain amount, and we can create coupons for those teachers to adjust their payment.
Are refunds available if I am not happy with this course?
If you are not registered for graduate credit, you have 30 days to receive a full refund for the course. If you are registered for graduate credit, you must withdraw before the course begins to receive a refund.
